PRIMARY-SOURCE FINDING
What the source establishes.
MIT CISR reports that the greatest financial impact appears when enterprises progress from building pilots and capabilities to developing scaled AI ways of working.
This page presents the finding as a qualitative maturity progression. It does not convert the MIT CISR framework into a Lifsys score or a promised financial outcome. The 2025 briefing draws on enterprise survey and interview evidence described by MIT CISR.
LIFSYS ENGINEERING INTERPRETATION
Why the evidence matters.
Scale requires more than repeating a pilot. Shared systems, clear ownership, redesigned work, and stewardship must carry the capability across operating boundaries.
The business decision is whether to invest in an operating system for reuse, not whether to fund another isolated demonstration.
DECISION IMPLICATION
The operating decision it changes.
Fund the next scale step only when the workflow, reusable system dependency, operating owner, and verification gate are explicit. Otherwise keep the work bounded as a pilot.
SCALE READINESS MAP / priority workflow, reusable platform dependency, operating owner, stewardship gate, verification and transfer conditions.
